Why the shape matters
Soft tissue heals into the shape of whatever it heals against. A round stock healing abutment leaves a round collar of gum, and the final crown, which is not round, then has to be pushed through that collar or sit over it.
Cervico moves this decision to the day of surgery, while the tissue can still be shaped. Each anatomical shape of our patented Cervico System has the shape of the natural tooth at the gum line, in three sizes for each tooth group. The gum heals around it, so at the impression it already has the contour of the final crown.
How the custom healing abutment kit works
Place the Cervico Guide over the site. Its 8 cylindrical tabs (5 to 12 mm) check the mesio-distal space and mark the osteotomy through their central bore. Its 12 anatomical tabs, four tooth groups in three sizes, mount on positioning pins in the osteotomy, so you see the planned healing abutment in place and choose the profile in the mouth. Each tab carries the code of a well in the Premium Mold.
The Premium Mold locks the abutment with an interchangeable VPI Prosthetic Connection Insert: the hex flat always faces buccal, and the insertion depth is set in 1 mm steps. Screw the temporary abutment into the insert in the well with the Guide’s code, fill with flowable composite, light cure, unscrew, polish, and deliver. The same well then makes a 1:1 duplicate impression post for conventional open or closed tray impressions, and abutments can be prefabricated before surgery.
Setting the depth
Fit the VPI insert in the socket group that matches how you placed the implant: sockets 1-12 crestal, 13-24 1 mm subcrestal, 25-33 2 mm subcrestal, 34-36 3 mm subcrestal. Once fitted, the insert stays in the mold; you move it only if your placement depth changes. If you work at several depths with the same connection, keep an extra insert fitted at each depth.
Two silicone inserts
The centered insert contains 12 anatomical wells derived from natural tooth cervical profiles, 4 cylindrical wells and 1 duplication well for impression transfer. The off-centered insert adds 12 off-centered wells for cases where the implant is not centered under the planned restoration. The Guide shows you which one the case needs.
Construction and compliance
The Guide and the Premium Mold are reusable without a fixed limit of cycles and are autoclaved at 134°C / 273°F between cases. The Premium Mold is a Class I medical device with a medical-grade aluminum base. Both are manufactured in the EU under ISO 13485 and comply with U.S. and Canadian medical device requirements.
