Connect a temporary abutment to your stock lab analog, push it into the desired well, and rotate the assembly until the buccal reference on the abutment aligns with the “tear” mark on the front of the well. Fill with flowable composite, light cure, unscrew, polish, and deliver.
The mold’s silicone insert contains 24 anatomical wells covering four tooth groups (a: anteriors, p: premolars, m1: lower molars, m2: upper molars), each available in three sizes (S, M, L) and two symmetry options: centered for cases where the implant sits under the planned restoration, and off-centered for cases where it does not. Both centered and off-centered shapes are built into the same silicone insert, so there is no need to swap inserts mid-workflow. Each well features a “tear” extrusion on its front surface that marks the buccal position, ensuring the abutment shape corresponds to the implant’s prosthetic connection orientation. A central duplication well lets you fabricate a matching impression post that transfers the exact subgingival contour to the lab.
Used standalone, the Essential Mold lets you select the appropriate well visually based on your clinical judgement of the edentulous space and tooth group. For accurate cervical profile selection, mesio-distal space evaluation, and verified osteotomy positioning, the Mold can be paired with the Cervico Guide, whose tab codes map directly to the wells in this Mold. The Mold also pairs perfectly with intra-oral scanners: the custom healing abutment shapes the soft tissue while the scanner captures the final emergence profile.
