Cervico wasn’t designed in a boardroom. It was born out of daily frustration in a busy referral-based implant practice, and a refusal to accept “close enough” as a clinical standard.
Why we made Cervico
The Cervico System was developed after experiencing the same problems, case after case, in my large referral-based implant clinic in Greece.
You have likely lived the same frustrations: patients complaining of food impaction and malodor around implant crowns, peri-implantitis associated with cement sepsis, open contacts with adjacent teeth, unscrewing abutments, de-cementing prostheses, and final restorations that never quite look natural. I knew I could not offer my patients or my referring dentists the highest level of care until I found the answer to this industry-wide problem.
After researching and collaborating with specialists, restorative dentists, and dental technicians around the world, the conclusion was clear: there was no predictable, duplicable way to simulate the proper size and shape of a natural tooth in a prosthesis if the gingival cervical profile around the implant does not match the natural tooth. At the time, the only path was meticulous soft-tissue sculpting and multiple temporary prostheses: extra appointments and extra cost that most patients decline, and extra time that many clinicians cannot give.
In 2014 I joined forces with my partner, certified dental technician George Papadopoulos. Together we designed, tested, patented and brought to life the Cervico System. It began as a single mold, a template my assistant could use to quickly fabricate a healing abutment replicating the cervical shape of the tooth being replaced, in different sizes for the different tooth groups. The results were astounding. Patients were pleased, referring clinicians and technicians were impressed, and our practice flourished.
Then we removed the last piece of guesswork. The Cervico Guide made selecting the right shape and size an accurate, quick and easy process: no probes, no intra-oral measurement, no complex formulas. It also evaluates the available prosthetic space and doubles as a surgical guide for the implant osteotomy, from the entry point to the position and angulation at every drilling step.
